Lincoln backing basketball glory

26 May 2021 | Corporate News

Lincoln University is helping local basketballers relive and share some of their best moments on court.

Lincoln has become a sponsor of Canterbury Basketball’s Glory League, where players ranging from intermediate to senior amateur leagues can have their individualised scoring highlights sent to them through a video app following the action. They can then share it on social media.

Each court will have more than 250 games a season, throughout Canterbury Basketball’s grades.

Basketball is increasingly popular with boys and girls in the 10-18 year old age group, having become the third biggest sport in secondary schools. The sponsorship will increase Lincoln University brand awareness and promote the university’s range of study options, including sport and recreation.

Lincoln Recreation Centre and Sport Scholarship Manager, Pete Magson, welcomed the sponsorship and the Glory League innovation, and said he hoped it would help grow the basketball scholarship even more, while highlighting Lincoln’s commitment to promoting sport at all levels.
