Lincoln sustains green ranking amid growing participation
14 January 2022 | News
Lincoln University has sustained its spot at 51st overall globally and top in New Zealand in the recently announced 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
This is despite a jump in institutions seeking to secure the sought-after recognition of their environmental credentials.
The Rankings, established in 2010 by Universitas Indonesia (UI), were the first to measure the commitment of universities to environmental sustainability.
They started in 2010 with only 95 institutions taking part and have now grown to 956, with 44 universities joining in 2021.
We are committed to being sustainability leaders in education and research, and an exemplar of sustainable practices for the land-based sector, as well as becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and achieve carbon zero by 2050.
Lincoln University ranked:
51st Overall Globally out of 956 participants
1st in New Zealand overall
12th globally for Transport
26th globally for Setting and Infrastructure
28th globally for Education
