May 2022 Graduation Ceremony postponed

06 April 2022 | News

Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki Lincoln University has regretfully decided to postpone its Graduation ceremony.

Initially scheduled for 13 May 2022 the ceremony will now take place on 23 September 2022, including Rā Whakamana and the Pasifika celebration that accompanies graduation.

Given the many uncertainties of the ongoing Omicron outbreak and under the current traffic light restrictions, the University does not believe it can provide an appropriate graduation experience that our students have come to expect and enjoy.

This has been a difficult decision and understandably will be disappointing news for many of our graduands and their whānau.  Our students have worked extremely hard to get to this point in their studies, and while the celebratory event has been postponed, this should not overshadow their accomplishments.

All qualifications will be conferred and mailed to graduands in May.  The event planned for September will reflect all the pageantry that marks a graduation ceremony, with graduands donning their regalia and having achievements recognised and celebrated in front of their whānau.

Dates for September will be confirmed in the coming week.
