Manaaki New Zealand Scholars congratulated

14 June 2021 | Students News

The achievements of 21 Manaaki New Zealand Scholars from 15 different countries were recognised at a Completion Ceremony last week on campus.

The event is a celebration and farewell for those either completing (or close to completing) their qualifications and returning to their home country, as they may not be able to attend Graduation.

The scholarships are administered by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as part of the New Zealand Aid Programme.

Scholars gain leadership and practical skills to assist their home countries on their return in identified areas of need, as well as building a link with New Zealand.

They were presented with a certificate by Lincoln University Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Bruce McKenzie, as well as some mementos.

The Scholars came from the Philippines, Laos, Myanmar, Tuvalu, Nigeria, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Ghana, Argentina, Timor-Leste, Nicaragua, Indonesia, Vietnam, Tanzania, and China.

Congratulations, and have a safe journey home.
