Meat alternatives on menu in latest podcast
22 September 2021 | News
If you are interested in understanding more about the market for meat alternatives don't miss the latest episode of the Influencers@Lincoln podcast.
The monthly podcast highlights some of the world-class research and programmes at Lincoln. In this episode Dr Hafsa Ahmed talks to Lincoln lecturer Samantha White about her recently submitted PhD research on consumer behaviour and plant-based meat substitutes.
Samantha conducted surveys with consumers and found the main drivers for choosing meat alternatives, or to cut back on meat in their diet, were environmental concerns, health, and animal welfare issues.
She also found social relationships to be important. This included online relationships, which raised awareness of the plant-based alternatives available, and how to use them in meals.
