New role in Nelson valued

Reuben Jeffery-Butler will be attending Lincoln University’s 2021 Graduation Ceremony, making the trip south from sunny Nelson after landing a role there with Quotable Value.

He will have his Bachelor in Land and Property Management (Rural Valuation) conferred at the ceremony, and is working towards becoming a Registered Valuer in three years.

Reuben is of Ngāti Tahu and Ngāti Whaoa descent, and attended St Thomas of Canterbury College.

“I was attracted to Lincoln because being small, it allowed for greater relationships between staff and students, somewhat similar to being back in high school. It was also great to have the ability to study such a specialised degree.”

He chose his study programme as he had “heard great things about the broad knowledge taught over the four years of study”, and because of the employability it would offer him, which his new role illustrates.

“I enjoyed the massive variety of courses that was compulsory in this degree. I learned about so many different things, from law, economics, finance and farm management, to even soil science. This is what kept me engaged and excited about my studies.”
