Passion for environment drives degree choice

29 March 2021 | Students News

New student Kyle Galloway is following his passion at Lincoln.

“I’m studying a Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Planning. I always knew I wanted to study environment and agriculture but I ultimately decided on my degree because I’m passionate about the environment,’’ Kyle said.

He made the trip south from Whakatane in 2021.

“I have loved my first few weeks at Lincoln. Making new friends has been so much fun. And being in a different part of the country has also been a great experience.

“The support from everyone is great and everyone is so helpful.”

Kyle is also a Future Leader Scholar at Lincoln.

“Being part of the Future Leaders is so much fun and is another network of support. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. Ultimately what I want achieve is to grow in leadership and with this, help others grow around me.

“Future Leaders has provided me with the opportunity to immerse myself in the local community.”

Kyle has some tips for new students.

“Seek help as soon as possible because everyone around generally wants to help you and will accommodate all your needs. Also, get involved in clubs or other activities, because Lincoln has so many different things. They cater to everyone.”
