Student team perform in second bite at food challenge

04 November 2021 | News

A Lincoln team has made the podium for a second time in the International Food Challenge.

Grace Mainwaring, Grace Moscrip, Emma Richie and new team member, Kate Sims, claimed third after winning the event in 2020, when former LU student Lincoln Roper was on board.

In the virtual international competition, run by the Food Distribution Research Society, the agribusiness and agricultural science students had to "develop a strategic analysis and plan for a blockchain technology company for small-medium growers to ensure they had competitive access in local markets".

Teams receive a summary of an industry challenge and are required to submit a 10-minute video as a response.

They also take part in a question and answer session with the industry client before they send in their videos.

The top three teams advanced to the final round, where they presented their recommendations to the industry client via Zoom.
