Students part of exciting summer of cricket on campus
27 November 2023 | News
Lincoln University Sports Scholar Abigale Gerken has been named in the New Zealand XI to take on Pakistan tomorrow, as a huge summer of cricket gets underway on-campus.
The one-day match starts at 11am, and is the first of two warm-up matches Pakistan have before the men's U19 tournament takes centre stage, in which Lincoln students Riley Brady, Ben Breitmeyer, Robson Foulkes and George Gunn, and former student Cam Paul will be playing.
Then there is the schoolgirl's Gillette Venus Cup, a NZ selection taking on the Bangladesh men’s side, the schoolboy's Gillette Cup, the Women's U19, Men’s U17, and a three-day match against South Africa for a New Zealand men’s XI in late January.
The matches are free and open to the public, so get the folding chairs and sunscreen ready and come down and see some of our best future and current cricket talent, as well as some of the best international players.
