What you will learn

After successfully completing this course, you’ll be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the use of Aotearoa-New Zealand native plants and exotic plants in parks and gardens.
  2. Show an understanding of hedges and shelter, and their establishment and maintenance.
  3. Understand how ground cover plants, climbers, perennial and annual plants are used in Aotearoa-New Zealand gardens.
  4. Describe and explain good maintenance and pruning practices for select plant groups.
