You’ll gain an understanding of different tree species available for various purposes on Aotearoa-New Zealand farms and identify how these trees can fulfil different functions within the farm system.

After successfully completing this course, you’ll be able to:

  1. Show your knowledge and understanding of tree species and their uses and applications in a New Zealand farming context.
  2. Explain the factors impacting the planning, establishment, growth, maintenance, management and harvesting of tree species.
  3. Outline your understanding of the legal and economic factors associated with tree species and their application to New Zealand agriculture.
