What you will learn
After successfully completing this course, you’ll be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of agriculture’s role in the Aotearoa-New Zealand economy in relation to differing land uses, production systems and legislation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of New Zealand’s agribusiness and financial systems, and the processes for investment analysis, enterprise purchase and financing, and the development, expansion and diversification of an agricultural enterprise.
- Demonstrate an understanding of equity and debt capital, risk management and labour management and demonstrate an understanding of the politics and global environment in which New Zealand agriculture operates.
- Demonstrate an understanding of environmental issues and legislations and the requirements for ‘best management practices’ in relation to environmental sustainability, welfare and water quality.
