Alliance Group Undergraduate Bursary
The Alliance Group is committed to supporting the future of young people interested in the meat industry, its associated industries and/or primary production.
The Shareholder Bursary is open to people who have a parent or guardian who are Alliance Group shareholders. The Bursary offers financial support to those who are making an application for admission to a university or other agreed establishment within New Zealand to undertake a full-time course of study in the coming year.
$1,500 per annum for up to three years.
The bursary is tenable for three years and may be held concurrently with other scholarships or bursaries.
A wide interpretation will be given to the relative course of study and would include agriculture, engineering, science, veterinary science, accounting, marketing, computer science, food technology and management.
The bursary recipient may be offered paid employment by Alliance Group during the long vacation following each academic year in which the bursary is held, provided suitable employment is available.
The Chief Executive has absolute discretion with regard to deciding if suitable vacation employment is available and whether to offer it.
The recipient will be selected each year by representatives of Alliance Group. Academic ability will not be the sole criteria for selection.
The company may refrain from making an award if it finds no candidate of sufficient merit.
Confirmation of the award of the bursary will be made when the company has received verification of the recipient's enrolment in a full-time course of university study.
