Rakaia Island Scholarship

The Rakaia Island Scholarship aims to assist and recognise students at Lincoln University with a passion for agriculture.

Rakaia Island Ltd is a large-scale family-owned dairy farm near Southbridge, mid- Canterbury. Converted from bare land in 1994, the property has been extensively developed and now comprises 4 dairy sheds and a dairy support unit over a total area of 1800ha.

Rakaia Island is pleased to offer an annual scholarship to a promising student at Lincoln University.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic merit
  • Evidence of interest in New Zealand Agriculture (preference may be given to candidates with a particular interest in dairy farming)
  • Personal profile

Availability

  • Be full time students registered in either

the second year of a Bachelor of Agriculture, Bachelor of Commerce (Agriculture) or Bachelor of Agricultural Science

or

a Diploma in Agriculture, intending to continue with a Diploma in Farm Management.

  • Be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.
