About this programme

As agriculture and agribusiness around the world respond to evolving challenges and opportunities, there’s a need for more in-depth scientific management that brings business acumen alongside sophisticated understanding and innovation.

Lincoln University’s Master of Agricultural Science offers advanced study and research in the fields that underpin agricultural production and development. Primary industries are vital to Aotearoa-New Zealand’s economy now and in the future. This programme develops your ability to respond as an agriculturalist to the requirements to produce quality products that satisfy the standards and needs of international markets.

Programme information

Programme Structure

You’re required to complete 240 credits.  This is normally made up of 120 credits of taught courses (from the regulation schedules for the relevant Master’s degree) and a thesis worth 120 credits. Students enrolling in a thesis-only Master’s only need complete a minimum of 120 credits.

The first year’s study provides preliminary research preparation.
