Congratulations to all Lincoln graduates

13 May 2022 | News

Two of Mils Gray's three years of study were affected by COVID, but that hasn't held her back from completing her degree and landing a fantastic job.

Mils was on campus this afternoon for a special celebration that had been organised after the postponement of the official graduation ceremony, which would have been held today.

The ceremony will now take place in September, and Mils said she would be there in her regalia, along with the many friends she has made at Lincoln.

She collected her Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management degree today, as did many other 2022 graduates.

Now a project manager at Federated Farmers, Mils works on the "Get Kiwis on Farms" campaign to encourage new workers into the industry, and said she enjoyed meeting a huge range of people from different backgrounds and helping them get into agriculture.

A Future Leader Scholar at Lincoln, she played a key role in helping other students to cope and take care of themselves during the COVID pandemic. She said online learning had been "a bit testing", but it did teach her some valuable time management skills.

Gain Varghese (pictured above) now has her Master of Science in Food Innovation degree, though she completed it in 2020. She travelled from India to collect it today, having been unable to return for the past two years due to border restrictions.

Congratulations to all graduates. View more photos on the Lincoln University Facebook page.
