Grow your accounting knowledge and skills so you can enrol in the Master of Professional Accounting (CPA) and the CPA Program®.
Even if you’re not from an accounting background, the Pathway Certificate for MPA Entry will cultivate your accounting skills, preparing you for a Master’s degree that expands your career opportunities with an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.
The Pathway Certificate for MPA Entry through Lincoln University provides the required accounting knowledge, skills and numerical competencies to enrol in the Master of Professional Accounting (CPA) and the CPA Program®. You’ll become eligible for Associate Membership of CPA Australia on successful completion. You’ll also build a solid understanding of contemporary issues and topics in accounting, economics, finance and law.
CPA Australia Foundation Outcomes are compulsory documents for this programme.

The Pathway for MPA entry is exclusively offered to domestic students.
Note: The Lincoln tuition fee waiver does not include the cost of the CPA exams. This has to be paid directly to CPA Australia for CPA embedded foundation papers.

- New Zealand level 7 Bachelor’s degree or recognised equivalent, with a B average or better.
- IELTS 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0).

Programme Structure
The Pathway Certificate for MPA Entry is a level 6 certificate programme made up of six 10-credit courses. Five of these are CPA Australia Foundation courses. Fundamentals of Business Law (ACCT220) is a Lincoln University course covering NZ legislation, and provides an exemption from CPA Australia’s Business Law.

Distance learning requirements
All of this programme are taught by distance learning with the use of MS Teams video conferencing which will allow you to participate fully in lectures and interact with fellow students and lecturers.
To access lectures on the MS Teams platform, you need
- Broadband wireless or wired internet connection (3G or 4G / LTE)
- Speakers plus microphone, either built-in, USB plug-in or Bluetooth wireless
- Webcam or HD webcam, either built-in or via USB plug-in
- HD cam or HD camcorder with video capture card can be used
