About this programme
Lincoln University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management expands your knowledge of the theory and practice of environmental management and policy to advanced levels.
The programme will test your critical analysis abilities, and cultivate your evaluation, problem-solving and communication skills.
When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to design approaches to resource management and environmental stewardship issues and communicate these at a senior level.

Programme Structure
The Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management is normally a two semester, full-time study qualification, but part-time study is also possible.
You’re required to achieve 120 credits in total (all at 600-level), which includes 20 credits from one of ERST601, ERST630 or MAST603, at least 60 credits (three courses) with ERST, LWST, MAST, ECOL or WATR prefixes or an approved research methods course and a maximum of 40 credits from the schedule of courses.
Not all these courses are available online. The online options are clearly identified as such on the individual course pages and through the online link below.
These course choices must be approved by the Academic Coordinator to ensure they form a coherent study programme.
Online study option
The Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management can be completed fully online, but please note that the range of courses to select from will be limited. Refer to the online course options for the Master of Environmental Policy and Management, together with the course regulations shown below.
If you are considering progressing to the Master of Applied Science (Environmental Management), Master of Planning or Master of Environmental Policy and Management, you should consider the regulations for these when selecting your courses.
